Quick Intro:
I'm Andrew a 26-years old CPA and aspiring Lawyer from the Philippines. I created this blog in order for me to escape from inevitable insanity! With all the pressure from work (ugh, finance papers!) and studies there are 7 things that keeps me lucid which I'll be featuring prominently in this blog.
No matter how helpful they are in keeping my sanity, they still occupy around 100TB (rough estimate) of information in my head and I need an external HD - this blog.
7 THINGS THAT KEEPS ME LUCID
1. One Piece (My favorite Anime should be separated from the rest)
It's about the story of a rubber-boy chasing his dream to be the Pirate King (typical plot right?) and this boy is an Idiot but values his "nakama" more that anything else (typical shounen?) . But the journey has been fantastic! For more than a decade and a half, We've been laughing, cheering, learning and crying with the protagonist of this show. Maybe I'm biased or maybe I'm just a fan who thinks this is the best manga series ever, but no other anime can move their fans the way One Piece did. I'll be making weekly recap on every new Chapter releases which you may want to check out.
2. Shounen Anime/Manga
Shounen Anime is my childhood. I maybe a different person if I didn't grow-up watching shounen. Running around shouting Kamekameha and at the same time blasting my playmates with a 120% Raegan!
The nostalgia of bringing back childhood memories in our consciousness is such a wonderful feeling that I want to share with every reader and fans a like.
Every now and then I'll be recapping a plethora of Anime in the past relieving those wonderful experience we had watching it as a kid. Hopefully I can work on Rouroni Kenshin, Saint Seiya, Yu Yu Hakusho and Slamdunk soon for this feature.
Then we there's the weekly running shounen I'll be recapping every week. I don't want to sound like a whining retard so I'll avoid making recap for Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tail (no disrespect to their fans, but Naruto and Bleach should have ended 3 years ago and FT is the talented Hiro Mashima's absolute low, see? I'm whining now!)
3. Old-school JRPGs
Forget about the graphics, forget about the the real-time based attacks, forget about paying every time you want to play!
In my time, the graphics sucks in today's standard, it's turn base- meaning the enemy and the protagonist have to wait for each others turn before they can attack, But the game is way more fulfilling to finish, way better storyline and I DON'T PLAY just to level-up faster than others.
I still remember doing a "Book" Report on Final Fantasy IX expanding on the game's irony on having an ultra optimistic hero, in an era where "snobbish and sulking heroes" are in abundance, while earnestly tackling more serious theme of identity, guilt, family and Death. And I've never been more proud being a gamer when I receive high mark from that report.
4. Comic Superheroes
Except for the crime fighting stuffs, How awesome its is to be a superhero?!
The superpower, the gadgets, the popularity? Who doesn't want it anyway?
Sometimes when we're to stressed-out and overwhelmed by every deadlines in our calendar we just have to convince ourselves than one day we'll be superheroes! F**k the stress, F**k the deadlines, F**k everything! I'm BATMAN!
5. Epic Fantasy Books, TV Show and Movies
Let's suspend our belief on the impossible. Let's enter the realm of every Epic Fantasy stories - Panem, Shire, Hogwarts, Narnia and most recently popularized Seven Kingdoms. There just something about Magic, Legendary Kings, Talking Lions, Dragons and other Cryptids that make us want to explore more of the unknown at least through this books.
Every week I'll be making recaps of the phenomenal series Game of Thrones. I'm not an expert on analyzing TV series' so I'll be writing these recaps as a fan.
6. Professional Wrestling
So let me tell you something Brother! Wrestling is cool...what? wrestling is cool...what? (give the person saying "what" a stunner!) WRESTLING IS COOL, BROTHER! - YES! YES! YES! Woooooooh!
Seriously, wrestling was cool back then, now and tomorrow. Everyone who bashes it saying it's fake are idiots! Of course its fake, you don't watch it because it's real, you don't watch it for real fight, you watch it for entertainment. You watch it 'cause these guys are real athletes who can do wonders inside the squared circle. And that's the bottom line 'cause....You know it!
7. Mixed Martial Arts

MMA is the fastest growing sports of the modern era.
Imagine Tekken or Street Fighter in happening in real world. Well, that's an exaggeration, but the point was made. The diversity of action in a Mixed Martial Arts fight is just amazing. From the outright backyard brawl to technical masterpieces were either man can end a bout in various ways that any other combat sports.
Add the fact that most of this fighters are no goons but hardworking athletes who dedicated their life in perfecting their craft. Whether their flashy or conservative in their style each of these fighters sacrificed something to reach the point in their career where they are competing against the best.
I may not be an "expert" on these topic but this blog ain't about giving an expert's opinion. This blog is about sharing voice as a fan which hopefully the readers can relate to.
